Everything you need to get going with QuackIndex.
How do I get started?
Add a hunting spot first — everything else in the app (your daily score, the movement map, water and terrain data, state regulations) is tied to a saved spot. Tap "+ Add my hunting spot" at the top of the Dashboard, or use "Current Location" to score wherever you are right now. You can save up to 5 spots and switch between them anytime.
What does the QuackIndex Score mean?
It's a single 0–100 number built from live weather, wind, and water data for your saved spot. Tap "See score formula and weights" on the Dashboard to see exactly what's driving the number and how much each factor counts today.
Why does my score say 'Scouting conditions only'?
That means it's outside the general duck season for your spot's state. The score still reflects real weather and water conditions, but it's held to a flat baseline rather than reacting to movement triggers — weather alone isn't presented as active migration outside the season.
What are Migration Front, Regional Scout, and Blind & Local on the Movement Map?
Three zoom tiers for the same movement data — Migration Front is the widest regional view, Regional Scout narrows to your area, and Blind & Local zooms to your exact spot. Each shows live wind-direction arrows and the hard freeze line where relevant.
Where do the hunting regulations come from?
Season dates, bag limits, and species rules are pulled from official state wildlife agency sources for your saved spot's state, with citations linked on the Regulations tab. Always confirm the linked official rule before you hunt — regulations can change.
What's the Hunt Journal for?
Log your hunts and scouting visits — date, birds observed, notes on water/access/activity. Once you have a few entries, "Analyze my hunts" uses AI to look for patterns across your own logs: what conditions actually produce your best hunts.
What do I get with QuackIndex Pro?
Extended forecasts, deeper movement-map tools, and unlimited AI hunt analysis. Starting a Pro subscription (Monthly or Annual) includes a 14-day free trial — a payment method is required to start, but you won't be charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel any time before then.
How do I cancel or change my subscription?
Go to Account in the app and manage your plan there, or through your Apple App Store subscription settings if you subscribed through the App Store. Cancelling stops future billing — it does not refund the period you've already paid for. On a monthly plan, the current month is already paid and non-refundable; cancelling stops the next month from billing. On an annual plan, the current year is already paid and non-refundable; cancelling stops the next year from billing. Either way, you keep Pro access through the end of the period you already paid for.
